PDO THREADS,
NEW ROMNEY
Used to reduce wrinkles and sagging skin, known as the ‘lunchtime facelift’.
This procedure involves using PDO (polydioxanone) threads to lift, tighten and strengthen the skin in the face, neck, décolletage, eyes, and jaw. A PDO thread is a strong synthetic fiber consisting of one or two twisted-style threads.
The insertion of these fine threads both induces skin tension and stimulates fibroblast activity around the thread leading to new increased collagen production. The threads are completely absorbed and the aesthetic effects of the newly formed collagen can be seen for 24-36 months depending on initial skin conditions, age, metabolic rate, and lifestyle implications. Different threads will be used for different areas of the face and body.
Threads are very non-invasive, making them a low-risk procedure. There is minimal chance of complication but bruising and swelling can be expected.
Polydioxanone is a biodegradable, safe suture material that has been used in orthopedic and cardiovascular procedures for more than 30 years, according to the FDA.
A thorough consultation with nurse Vicki is required to discuss the best option for the desired outcome. Topical and injectable lidocaine is used to make the procedure comfortable. Also known as a ‘lunchtime face lift’, this procedure is quick and effective at achieving amazing results.
